how to fix VDMA S2MM errors

Jump to solution

Hello.

VDMA has enabled both read and write channels.

The following error occurs :

S2MM_VDMASR 14bit : Err_Inq

S2MM_VDMASR 11bit : SOFLateErr

S2MM_VDMASR 4 bit : VDMAIntErr

How do I fix the error?

Hi,

The errors mean the incoming frame size on the AXI Stream interface is different than what you've programmed into the registers.

This is common error at startup or hot plug events where partial frames are possible. This will cause an error in the S2MM_VDMASR register which will be 'sticky' until you clear it.

So I always suggest that you first clear the errors and then read them back to determine if it is a startup issue or stead-state issue. If it's a steady state issue, you need to confirm HSIZE/VSIZE registers and make sure it matches the frame size on the AXI Stream interface.
