ML410 ethernet

Can the tri-mode ethernet card work with plb_ethernet drive?

I have a FX12 board, which has exactly the same marvell ethernet card as ML 410. I have no trouble running a web_server program (modifed by Digilent's webserver for X2P board).

However, for the ML 410 board, the program does not work. The 'TX' LED never blinks (except initiliazation).

Any suggestions?

Re: ML410 ethernet

It turns out to be the problem of speed negotiation problem.

I'm using a cable connected to a 1000M switch. When I plug the calbe in the FX12 board,  the speed is negotiated at 10M - Link 10M Led is on; however, when I plug the cable into the ML410, the led "link 1000m" is always on.

So, instead of connecting ML410 directly to the 1000M main switch, I connect it to a 10M router. Now plb_ethernet works.

Re: ML410 ethernet

Yet still, there is something wrong.

When I port linux kernel to ML 410 with plb_ethernet drive, NFS fails:

eth0: Link carrier lost.
eth0: Could not read PHY control register; error 1003
eth0: Terminating link monitoring.
nfs: server 10.0.1.16 not responding, still trying
nfs: server 10.0.1.16 not responding, still trying
nfs: server 10.0.1.16 OK
nfs: server 10.0.1.16 OK

...

However, there is no problem with the FX12 board.

Is there some weird timing problem?
