Protected components in FPGA editor

Hi All,

I used ISE 14.7 to implement my circuit but when I checked it in the FPGA editor some of the slices are protected and I cannot see inside them ...then I looked at the XDL fine it also says it is encrypted...Any comments on it? I want to see inside the slices and extract their components. is it there any option in ISE to do that? I couldn't find it...

Thanks,

xana

Re: Protected components in FPGA editor

Are you working with licensed IP cores or is this problem in slices created by code you wrote?  There is protection for IP cores that prevents this sort of reverse-engineering when the original core source was encrypted.
