Hi,
My question is,
Whether Virtex 6 GTX can support the "1000 Base- BX" lines to get directly interfaced ? Hope I have to use " Ethernet 1000BASE-X PCS/PMA or SGMII" logic core for this, if it supported.
In the design, we have to connect the AMC port0:1 directly to the Virtex 6 GTX using this Logic core. Is it feasible ?

Hi Vijayan,
Virtex 6 GTX will support the "1000 Base- BX".
Please check Core gen IP section for user guide at the given locations GIG_ ETH_PCS_PMA_DS264.PDF.
Please let me know for further assistance.
Best Regards,

Thanks for the Detail.
As you said, V6 can support 1000Base-X. But I don't know what is the exact difference between 1000Base-X and 1000Base-BX ? If there is no difference, I can use this same.

Hi Vijayan,
There is no IP core called 1000Base-BX. from XIlinx.
Xilinx only have 1000Base-X and 1000Base-T cores

Hello,
i have a similar configuration with a Spartan 6 LX75T. I would like to interface a Marvell Switch Chip over 1000Base-BX. Is the only difference between 1000Base-X and BX the 1000 Mb/s speed, full duplex and flow control options? In this case, the 1000Base-X ip core is compliant !?
Thank you,
Thomas

Hi Danoz,
1000Base-X is similar to 1000Base-BX. BX is the Backplane varriant with fixed 1000Mbps. You have to set 1000 Forced and no Auto Neg on the PHYs. The IP Core should support this.

Thomas
