Adding source from another directory

I am new to Vitis, and building my first project. I want to add some source files from another directory into my application code, without actually copying it into the Vitis application src directory. This is so that my existing source control process does not break. I can see how to import a copy into the local directories, but not a way to add it without copying. There is an option to add by link, which I tried, but it added a whole directory instead of the individual files.

On another note, am I fighting a useless battle and should I just give up and use the Vitis directory structure and eschew source control.

Re: Adding source from another directory

Hi @billhunter

If you are using XSCT flow (command line) then currently we do not support import files by reference.

However, if you are using GUI then you can follow below steps,

1. Create a blank application project using an empty application project template.

2. Right-click on the application project and click on importsources

3. In import wizard, Click on Advanced and select Create links in the workspace option
