Vitis AI - XRT

Jump to solution

Hello,

I am embedded software engineer and I am newbie on FPGA. I took a look to XRT documentation but I don't have fully understanding on what is needed to use it on MPSoC.

What I understand is that in this repository https://github.com/Xilinx/XRT.git I have everything I need on software (user space libraries and kernel modules) to build and application on user space that will be accelerated on the IPs implemented on the Programmable logic part.

What I don't understand is if I have to create my own accelerator IPs to implement them on the programmable logic or they are ready to use somewhere on Vitis environment?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Hi

xrt provides opencl api interface for host code

You can access your accelerator ip through opencl

Refer to https://github.com/Xilinx/Vitis_Accel_Examples

Thank for the reply.

Actually my question was about the Hardware platform.

I understand that XRT contains software libraries and kernel modules that interacts with the hardware design loaded as a bitstream on Programmable Logic.

My question is: where can I find the hardware designs that are compatible with XRT for MPSoC?

Regards.

Thank you very much!

I am currently working with Ultra96 board.

I was doing some research on my side and I found this article: https://developer.xilinx.com/en/articles/exploring-support-vector-machine-acceleration-with-vitis.html

This article make reference to a file ultra96_base.tar.gz that is supposed to be on Vitis wiki but I did not find it, Do you know where can I find it?

Regards.
