How to install SDSoC 2018.3 on Ubuntu?

Jump to solution

Hi,

I downloaded the Web installer version of SDSoC 2018.3 version to install on my Ubuntu desktop. However, I couldn't find instructions in the user guide on how to install it though. The user guide focuses only on single file download installation instructions. Also, when I double clicked the .BIN file, it's doing nothing. Therefore, the installation is not intuitive either. Can someone help me with the installation process? I've been struggling for the whole day to do this.

Thanks,

Venky

Hi @kodukulav

In the terminal issue the following command in the directory where the bin file is located,

chmod a+x name_of_file.bin

Then run the .bin file by writing

./name_of_file.bin

If you get a permission error you might have to launch with root privileges using sudo:

 sudo ./name_of_file.bin

Let me know if this works out for you.
