SDx Emulation after code modification

I use Xilinx SDx on windows to develope some applications on ZCU102 board with A53 Linux. Every time I make some changes in my C++ code, I rebuild the project, and to get the results, run it. However, compiling while the emulator is running is not allowed. So every time, I have to stop the emulator and start it again. Booting the Linux emulator is a long process, about three minutes, and this really slows down my progress. I make minor changes in my code very often, and each time I should wait for a long time to see the effects.

I was wondering if it is possible to run my new code without relaunching the emulator?

Or, is it possible to minimize the Linux on the board to make it much faster?
