ERROR:iMPACT:583 - '1': The idcode read from the device does not match on Xilinx Parallel Cable IV

HI! I have a problem when i am using Xilinx Parallel Cable IV to do the programming on my CPLD. Error msg :

   idcode in the bsdl File.

INFO:iMPACT:1579 - '1': Expected IDCODE:    00000110111001011000000010010011
Elapsed time =      0 sec.
 
But, i do not have this problem when i am using Parallel cable came with the development board (XC2-XL from digilent).
 
Any idea?

  • In most cases, this IDCODE error message is indicative of a board problem. Mostly problems related to JTAG chain hardware. So please check all the programming hardware of your board.
  • Perform an IDCODE looping test. If IDCODE looping fails, see http://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/8902.htm

 

  • Check all the connections as per configuration guide recommendations

 

  • Check the continuity of the cable & cable insertion direction.

 

  • Check all the voltages of FPGA. They should be with the range  as per data sheet recommendations
