How does one make available setting the timescale in ChipScope waveform window?

Jump to solution

It looks like in Vivado 2016.2 there is support for displaying a time unit other than the default 'Samples' in the chip scope waveform display; if hover the mouse over the number line and right click and you get a menu with the selections we all want grayed out.

How can we make the other selections (Auto, User, ns...) available? (what is Default and Auto?)

It would be great to be able to tell the tool the period of our sample clock and then see everything in units of time!

Hi @michaeltymcnamara,

I checked internally and the reason why those options are present is because this is the same canvas that is used for the behavioral and timing simulations in Vivado. Although, these options are not available for the Chipscope tools (ILA, VIO, etc).

Enabling the timing option for Chipscope is a feature that is already being considered by the Vivado Engineering Team, but at this time the only option available is Samples.

Thanks,
