Memory reads and writes though XMD while Chipscope is in capture mode on a ZC706 Zynq board

Hey all,

http://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Design-Tools-Others/Using-chipscope-in-tandem-with-SDK/m-p/221489/highlight/true#M2937

Having a similar problem to the one in the attached thread and I'm trying the same solution as the OP says is the correct answer however it's not working out for me.

Once I have made the connection and successfully downloaded the elf I cannot get Chipscope to open and connect to the JTAG. Sorry if I'm being vague at all but this seems like a necessary thing for hardware, software co-debug.

Re: Memory reads and writes though XMD while Chipscope is in capture mode on a ZC706 Zynq board

Okay, So I'm coming to conclusion that the Chipscope + XMD plan is a no go(fi someone else has a document showing how to get the two to work together on a zynq please post or link). Now I have another question regarding using SDK while Chipscope, it seems the only way to do a hardware/software co-debug with the zynq is to load up program start it then disconnect the JTAG connection to SDK and turn on Chipscope.

For my purposes and my design this flow will not work for the signals I need to monitor, since there is an initialization sequence communication between the PL-PS that is nigh-instantaneous. So I would like any suggestions on how I could start the program without XMD or SDK so that I can still use chipscope to monitor my IO's and buses.

Thanks for reading,
