Vivado Chipscope creates multiple independent ILA units. How to trigger them together?

Jump to solution

I followed the steps to flag post synthesis nets for Chipscope debug, and ended up with three independent ILA units, each with their own clock.  Ok, fine,

But when I set up one of them to trigger, the others do not seem to update their waveform data. I want to see all the nets in all three ILA at the same moment in time..

Whats up with this??

Hi,

Give a single clock for all the trigger signals. this will creae only a single ila core for all the signals and hence show the waveform for all signals. The trigger clock can be different from the actual clock at which that module is running.

Thanks,
Anirudh

The ILA generator thinks they are in different clock domains, which is why they are separate and why they do not trigger together.  If you want to trigger different clock domains off of the same signal, you have to reclock the trigger signal into each clock domain.
