BUG? Messages not related to current project in HLS DRC window

Jump to solution

There seems to be a carryover of messages from prior projects. The carryover effect ‘may’ or may not be related to https://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Vivado-High-Level-Synthesis-HLS/RANDOM-SYNCHK-errors-in-HLS-coding-examples/m-p/928254

Steps to demonstrate…

1) Open and synthesis a project that will cause a message to appear in the DRC window (preferably one that has a file name in it, so it is easy to see)
2) Close the project
3) Open another project and display the DRC window… you will see messages not related to the current project (even after synthesis, and even if you turn off the DRC-Info/Warnings/errors filter check boxes)

The message ‘This info will be updated ...’ stays on the screen, and there is ‘no’ current process running.

This shows that at least some unrelated data does seem to carryover to the next project.

See the picture below, that shows the open project, and reference to a different project in the DRC window.

P.S. Closing HLS and then reopening it, seems to correct the DRC window.

Since it has a workaround, I will mark it closed, but request a fix in a future release, especially it is related the 'random' failure reference above.
