Type 'set_max_delay -help' with Vivado and you will get what the Tcl Ref Guide would have in it.  I let the documentation team know this item is missing.

To really understand the set_max_delay command, you really have to have a good understanding of how the Vivado Design Suite timing engine performs setup checks (and hold checks for the set_min_delay commands). In short, the set_max_delay command overrides the "normal" mechanism used for determining the setup check requirement on a static timing path.

Again, this is covered in great detail in the class

Hi,

Search in UG903. There is a clear explanation of this Tcl command with plenty of examples. You can also try the examples in your own design by respecting the correct names of source and destination nets.

Hope it helps anyone having this trouble.

Bests,

Daryon
