How to script "Add module to blockdesign"?

Jump to solution

I have an included RTL module in my blockdesign using the following menu:

It works perfectly, but I want to add this module to design using a TCL script. How can I do that?

(With create_ip command? or how?)

The goal is to store the sources in a version control system, so I want to store the sources only, with no generated files.

Hi @betontalpfa,

I would suggest you to use write_bd_tcl command once your BD generates and validates in Vivado GUI. (For revision Control)

Before creating the tcl script (using write_bd_tcl command) make sure the BD has been generated successfully with all of the associated IP output products. No errors should be present as well.

Check UG 892. for more info.
