TCL resize_pblock to constrain exact 1 slice boundary - WARNING [Vivado 12-4775]

Jump to solution

Here is the command that I constrain a submodule to particular pblock. Following is the TCL command and the warning message.

create_pblock pblock_SLICE_X1Y3
pblock_SLICE_X1Y3
resize_pblock pblock_SLICE_X1Y3 -add SLICE_X1Y3:SLICE_X1Y3

WARNING: [Vivado 12-4775] These ranges will be aligned to a tile boundary: SLICE_X1Y3:SLICE_X1Y3

create_pblock pblock_SLICE_X1Y4
pblock_SLICE_X1Y4
resize_pblock -add SLICE_X1Y4 pblock_SLICE_X1Y4

WARNING: [Vivado 12-4775] These ranges will be aligned to a tile boundary: SLICE_X1Y4:SLICE_X1Y4

As I checked the internal property and the UI layout. These pblocks has expands to the Tile boundary, i.e. 2 slices for the pblock.

My question: is there a way to resize the pblock to achieve exactly 1 slice range?

The grid of pblock range is one tile.

In 7 series device, one tile contains 2 slices, so the minimum range of  pblock is 2 slices.

In US/US+ device, one tile contains 1 slice, so the minimum range of  pblock is 1 slice.
