Configuring Zynq remotely

Jump to solution

I create a hardware platform on Vivado which satisfies the minimum requirements to boot Linux and is interfaced to custom IP peripherals in the PL. Using the exported HDF file, I build the BOOT.BIN and image.ub file with PetaLinux SDK. I put this on SD card and boot Linux on my Zynq board. The board is connected to the network over Ethernet and I can access it from my PC.

I know that software development and remote debugging is possible over Ethernet (just SCP of the ELF files generated by Xilinx SDK). But this holds true only for a fixed hardware configuration.

Suppose I wish to write a new bitstream to change the peripherals itself in the PL. Is it possible to achieve this remotely over the Ethernet? If so, how?

You can mount the boot partition of the SD card, copy the new boot.bin and reboot.
