INTERNAL_ERROR:Xst:cmain.c:3423:1.29

Hi,

I am getting the following error during the HDL synthesis of a project :

INTERNAL_ERROR:Xst:cmain.c:3423:1.29 -  Process will terminate. For technical support on this issue, please open a WebCase with this project attached at http://www.xilinx.com/support.

Process "Synthesize - XST" failed.

I am not able to proceed further and diagnose the error.

I am using ISE 14.7 Spartan6 , LX-16  board for synthesizing. I have tried changing the "keep hierarchy" to "soft" and all other possible solutions I saw over the other community forums.

Please help!

Re: INTERNAL_ERROR:Xst:cmain.c:3423:1.29

My experience with XST is that it often crashes when there are errors in the user's HDL code.  I've found that ISIM can often flag the problem without crashing.  Are you able to simulate the code that's crashing XST?  Even if you don't have a top level testbench, you can run "Simulate Behavioral Model" on your top level module to see if you get compiler errors from ISIM.

Re: INTERNAL_ERROR:Xst:cmain.c:3423:1.29

I am able to simulate the behavioral model without crashing XST. So I think I don't have any compiler errors.

Re: INTERNAL_ERROR:Xst:cmain.c:3423:1.29

Any large loops in the code?  Sometimes attempting to create a lot of logic in one loop can cause a crash.

Hi,

If inside of code using a bus type or any signal in different process or always block so the signal drives lot of resources so it will give this type of error, try to RTL code for design

Re: INTERNAL_ERROR:Xst:cmain.c:3423:1.29

While i try to simulate in behavioral model i am getting error as "simulation flows are not supported for zynq based designs".

( I have added to xps to the top level module)

Note: I am using zynq 7045 model
