Simple QUESTION: AXI CDMA transfer mode selection problem

Jump to solution

Hello Guys,

I have to make two data transfers one from PL TO DDR3 and other from PL TO OCM so is it possible to make a simple transfer mode or a scatter gather mode.

I think it is scatter gather mode if yes is there any application of it ??

I am not sure that I fully understand what you're saying, but you do have to read from the other side of the fifo if you want to get data out of it. It should have an AXI type of interface as well.

No you don't have to use scatter gather if you don't want.

Check these two places for CDMA examples:

PL to OCM (cache coherent): http://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/50826.htm

PL to DDR (chapter 6): http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx14_4/ug873-zynq-ctt.pdf

Hello,
thanks for the reply.
I have already looked in to these examples.
Now I understand that I need to make 2 simple transfers.
I have my source from a axi external slave connector which reads data from a fifo.
Does the data from FIFO automatically written in to the axi external slave or should I program something so that external slave reads from the FIFO??

Yes the AXI FIFO IS CONNECTED TO AXI SLAVE CONNECTOR WHICH READS DATA OUT.
