USB Output

Hi,

I'm new in programming FPGA and trying my best to improve. I've a "Gimme2" Board from AF Inventions. There is a Zynq 7020 on it. My aim is that I get any output on my laptop. I connect the board with the laptop with USB.

So I started Vivado and created a project in verilog (i know the language a bit).

My design source:

module design_test_gimm2(
    output led
    );

    assign led = 1;
endmodule

My .xdc looks like this:

set_property PACKAGE_PIN AA22        [get_ports led]
set_property IOSTANDARD LVCMOS25    [get_ports led]

I got information from the data sheet:

#NET "UART0_TX" IOSTANDARD = LVCMOS25;
#NET "UART0_TX" LOC = AA22;
set_property -dict {LOC AA22 IOSTANDARD LVCMOS25} [get_ports UART0_TX]
#NET "UART0_RX" IOSTANDARD = LVCMOS25;
#NET "UART0_RX" LOC = W20;
set_property -dict {LOC W20 IOSTANDARD LVCMOS25} [get_ports UART0_RX]

I hope it's correct to use AA22?

So the bitstream is fine and I programmed the board. But how can I see the output?

Do I have to use Putty? If yes, how?

Thanks for any support

Best regards

A.

That won't work, but you probably already know that.

I am not familiar with the board that you are using, but it appears that there is a USB UART component on the board and you have connected your PC to this connector.  The USB UART component is expecting a UART serial data stream and you gave it constant one, so nothing will happen.

If you want to light up an LED on the board you need to find a pin that is connected to an LED.
