On June 4, MathWorks is presenting a free 1-hour Webinar titled “Research and Development for 5G Wireless Communications Systems with MATLAB and Simulink” that will cover:

 

 

  • MIMO-OFDM baseband signal processing systems such as LTE/LTE-Advanced
  • Multi-user MIMO designs, for example 8x8 MU-MIMO Transmission mode 10 of LTE-Advanced
  • Transmission and reception characteristics of RF circuits operating at mmWave frequencies such as around 60 GHz
  • Radiation patterns and spatial gain features of arbitrarily-large multi-antenna systems

This would be a good time to remind you that BEEcube recently launched the MegaBEE Massive MIMO Prototyping System and the nanoBEE 3GPP Hardware Development Platform for prototyping 5G remote radio heads and other 5G equipment. Both the MegaBEE and the nanoBEE are based on the Xilinx Zynq SoC. There’s an existing workflow in the BEEcube Platform Studio that tightly integrates LTE waveform generation and simulation in MATLAB and Simulink with the Xilinx Vivado Design Suite and the LTE-optimized MegaBEE and nanoBEE prototyping platforms.
