IO Standard for FMC pins are red for KC705

Jump to solution

Hi,

I am using

FMC_HPC_LA00_CC_P and FMC_HPC_LA00_CC_N differential pins for clock

FMC_HPC_LA01_CC_P and FMC_HPC_LA01_CC_N differential pins for data

to send out of my KC705 board. While setting IO standard for these pins, my elaboration staged I/O Ports mark these pins in red with LVDS* .  These are LVDS signals according the KC705 user guide.

Am i missing something here ?

Thanks

Hi @omar.sheriff ,

KC705 FMC is powered with VADJ voltage of 2.5 V by default. So you need to use IO standard which suits that voltage. KC705 XDC File suggests customer to use LVCMOS25.

With LVDS you will face issues, if you declare that pins as output or bidirectional. Note that LVDS is not rail to rail voltage, for more information refer AR#43989 .

Also ensure you are obeying the rules mentioned in page 97 of UG471 (v1.10).

Use LVDS_25 IO standard it should work.
