IRPS5401 programming

Jump to solution

Hello,

I have an Ultrazed-EG IO Carrier board with a factory-programmed IRPS5401.

I was wondering if Xilinx or AVnet have some code example or the list of PMBus commands values to program this PMIC.

Thanks.

Infineon provides pre-configured designs (also for zynq) into its toolbox installation.

Hey simozz,

I am trying to change register value in the PMIC IRPS 5401 to modify voltage output in Loop D.

I watched the different Datasheet of Infeneon.

With IIC protocol I can read and write into register from 0 to 255. But it's impossible to access at register above 255 because the register adress is more than 1 byte.

I post something in the Xilinx Forum : https://forums.xilinx.com/t5/Vitis-Acceleration-SDAccel-SDSoC/Configure-PMIC-with-IIC/td-p/1208551

Thanks

Buy the USB stick from Infineon, use PowIRCenter to read and program the IC.

This is the best way to work with it.

I know this USB stick. Do you know if it's possible to program the PMIC without it?

The protocol is PMBUS, a subset of I2C, so of course you can.

It's up to you to evaluate if it's worth to dive into this task.
