Is the IP Integrator supposed to be aware of FMC connections in KCU105 board?

Jump to solution

The latest version (1.5) of the corresponding board.xml file seems to have the required information but FMC doesn't show up as one of the interfaces in the IP Integrator. Failing that, what is the simplest way to connect to FMC from a block design? Thanks.

Hi @mmatusov

If you carefully go through the board.xml file present at location C:\Xilinx\Vivado\2018.x\data\boards\board_files\kcu105\1.5, you will find that there is no interface definition for the fmc component on the board. There is only pin information given unlike SFP, PCIE, DDR4 component on the board. Hence the reason it doesn't show up  as one of the interfaces in the IP Integrator. Refer UG895, Appendix A for information about board files details.

You need to manually write your own contraints to connect the IOs to the FMC as required.
