ML605 LCD operation

Hi,

I'd like to use the LCD on the ML605 board, while I can not find any introduction how to design and operate it? Could you give me some suggestion pls?

Hi,

have a look at the Spartan-3A/3AN FPGA Starter Kit Board User Guide (UG334). I think it is the same display, but operating in four bit mode (see page 52).

I have managed to get it working, but only tried to output some characters. You can use the same steps  (Initializing, Configuration, Writing) as described in the UG334.

Hi,

I just modified the lcd_control.vhd file that came with the ug695 ISE tutorial to use the 4 bit LCD bus on the ml605 (the tutorial files are designe for the spartan board which has an 8 bit bus to the LCD).
