Power regulator failure

Hi all,

I have purchased a spartan 3an board a whiile ago. Accidentally, I have plug a wrong power adapter which is 12V instead of spartan's kit's adapter. Now, the power LED is blinking even when I connect the right adapter. I've notice that the regulator circuit has broke. Is it any possibilities that I make an additional regulator board to power the spartan again?

Thanks.

Hi,

Not kowing excatly your design (if there is a second regulator or not) I can not answer your question correctly. But if the difference between your board's power and the 12V you applied is big enough maybe you have not only damaged the regulator but also the FPGA itself or another components too.

If the regulator is the only component damaged of course replace it for another one with the same reference. It should work.

Good luck,

thanks for your reply. My design is attached. Could my design break the FPGA? Thanks.
