Problem with KCU105 + FMC XM105 debug + FMCOMMS3

Jump to solution

Hi All,

I have a KCU105 board with two mezzanine cards: FMC XM105 debug and Analog Device FMCOMMS3.

When i use KCU105 + FMCOMMS3 (either on LPC than HPC ) the KCU105 is correctly detected by Vivado (2019.2) hardware manager using JTAG, while when I plug the FMC XM105 the KCU105 is no longer detected (using either uart-Jtag than an external jtag programmer). In this last case one of the power good leds turns off (VADJ). The led on XM105 are off.

Using the system controller I can still set VADJ to 1.8V and in this case the XM105 PG leds turn on but the JTAG still doen't work.

The behaviour is the same on LPC than HPC, with or without FMCOMMS3 (that seems to work fine).

Any suggestion?

Thanks

Hi @fiabane-space ,

Can you please check jumper settings at J5 of XM105 board? Make sure TDO, TDI pins are connected through jumper.

TDO\TDI jumper was the problem!

 I was too optimist!

Using the jumper the kcu105 is correctly detected through JTAG and I'm able to program it but the mezzanine on the other FMC ( a FMCOMMS3 ) do not works properly.

The only way I found to make the whole system working is perform these steps:

1) turn on the KCU105

2) program the VADJ to 1.8V using system controller

3) program the FPGA with my design

There is a way to make permanent the 2nd point ? It is frustrating to have to do it every time!
