Using the ise tutorials on Spartan6

In the tutorials in

you are instructed to use the settings:

Select the following values in the New Project Wizard—Device Properties page:
♦ Product Category: All
♦ Family: Spartan3A and Spartan3AN
♦ Device: XC3S700A
♦ Package: FG484

However, I have the new SP601 card which is build around the Spartan6 family.

Can I use these tutorials for my labcard? Which settings should I use?

Yeah, you can use those designs and they should work just fine.

You can start with using the part markings for the setting: XC6SLX16-CS324-2CES FPGA

Family: Spartan6

Device XC6SLX16

Package: CS324

You can also use the docs here to pick off any good user IO for inputs like a clock or outputs to monitor:  http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/boards_and_kits/ug518.pdf  page 23.

Thanks that did help. I have been wanting to hear this! I will not get busy with the tutorials. Perhaps it owuld be an idea that you somewhere documented this.
