VC709 PCIE Driver for Windows and TRD in Fedora

Jump to solution

Dear,

1. I got a VC709 board and plug it in PCIE slot, windows recognized it as a PCIE memory controller but with yellow bang in device manager. Does I need any PCIE driver for it?

2. When I follow UG996 to do "Connectivity System Setup with Targeted Reference Design", I didnt find "TRD ZIP file" so I couldnt copy "v7_xt_conn_trd.tar.gz" and failed to continue the test. Anyone encounter the same trouble?

Thanks a lot.

Now I can see Xilinx device in lspci.exe. That indicate that the driver is OK now right?

Hi,

That's good news. If you are able to see the xilinx device in lspci, then it indicates that the driver seems to be ok.

Re: VC709 PCIE Driver for Windows and TRD in Fedora

Hi htsvn,

I found LSPCI could see the device even I didnt install any driver,LSPCI has it's internal driver, right?

Or VC709 could be found in LSPCI even without any driver?

I got the TRD in linux, after ‘Double-click on quickstart.sh script’ it remind me that No Xilinx Device found, and program in VC709 is factory default and I did not make any change after I got the board. Any advice for it?

Thanks!

I have the same problem. The GUI from quickstart.sh says no device found. I could not boot the fedora disk on my motherboard, so I am testing with a centos install.

Do I need to install vivado on the host system for the pcie card ?

I had the same problem.  Check the LED's on the board.  If they are not solid or flashing like the user guide says they should, you probably have the wrong firmware loaded.  My VC709 did not have the correct firmware loaded out of the box, I had to reload it with the "ready_for_download" version, then it started working.
