ZC702 fails at BIST test and not able to detect ETHERNET PHY

Hello,

      I am newbie in working with FPGA  projects. I am trying to store data on the DDR  through the Ethernet interface.  but i am not even able to perform ping operation after executing the lwip xilinx driver. 

      I am having problems with execution of BIST program on ZC702 board.The program hangs at detecting Ethernet PHY.  I have tried various solutions which are listed below  and also want to know whether can we consider that there is a hardware fault if the BIST program fails?

 

   1.Configured the drivers at kernel configuration menu for Ethernet and Edited the device tree file i.e system-user.dtsi  file in petalinux flow with below code . built the whole  project again.

   I have tried to edit the memory address of Ethernet phy i.e e000b000  as mentioned  in this forum

 and mii info command in u-boot  hangs after performing those editing. Output is provided in the second attachment.

3. 

 I have tried the pre-built images of ZC702 for Ethernet interface which are given in the following link below. and the log file when i have used the command ifconfig -a it shows all interfaces but when i configure it with the command ifconfig  eth0 192.168.1.10 it shows error as

Hi,

in 1, modifying the dts, would you try this format and may change the ethernet phy address if still not working.  

phy0: phy@7 { // change from 0 to 9

In terms of phy address, 0 works for my zedboard and 7 works for my ZC702. And this differs from the revision or type of boards.

To my knowledge, they changed. (ref. https://github.com/Xilinx/linux-xlnx/commit/9a3832f0ac6fa697d4c7798970ba14a3bfed5517 )

 

I run Android on top of these two boards. Hope this can help you!

 I have tried with this format and booted it through qemu  in petalinux. but still the problem persists. i have also tried all combinations from 0 to 9 in the format

    I have tried the format you have specified and also tried  all combinations from 0 to 9 ..still not able to detect the phy.

u-boot

as you can see in the above pic .im able to detect during u-boot ..when i booted through qemu

 

but not when i am booting kernel...i have activated all drivers. i dont know whats the problem.
