Zedboard current sense

I've seen some people use the oscilloscope and Zedboard's J21 pins to measure power.
However, I thought that the two pins of J21 were + and-, respectively, and connected the probes immediately, the board was turned off, and the spark occurred.
Can you tell me how to connect an oscilloscope probe to Zedbaord?

Thank you.

If I understand the case correct,

If one side of your scope was an earth connection, like the standard crock clip on a scope probe, , connecting that to a power supply results in a bang / spark / smoke escapes / dead chips.

You need to measure differential, using either a differential probe, or a pair of probes and subtract one voltage from the other.
