Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC ZCU111 Evaluation Kit work with Firefly 28 ?

Hello all,

I know that firefly28 (from Samtec) is meant for VCU118 evaluation board. Is it possible for ZCU111 to connect to firefly28 as ZCU111 have a relevant FMC+ connector port. I have been trying to get channel up but i have been unsuccessful.

Thanks !

The FMC is just a spec. You will want to validate the pinout on the firefly goes to the correct transceiver channels/tiles you are expecting to bring up. Then also make sure the clocking is setup for those channels as well. I am assuming here that by channel you mean a transceiver channel. Let me now if that isnt the case. Also let me know what the failure condition looks like. Are you seeing the pll lock or do you have ibert running or some other validation interface?

Hi Travisc,

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I am trying to do a loopback using Aurora ipcore and firefly28. I believed that i have checked my pinouts correctly using zcu111 schematics. i managed to get the pll lock up and gt powergood up. However i am unable to get lane up and channel up. I am not sure how to proceed from here. I have attached a diagram of my aurora and firefly set up. Thanks so much.

This is my aurora Ipcore settings:

GT type: GTY
Line Rate: 25 Gbps
Column used: left
Lanes: 1
Starting GT Quad: Quad X0Y2
Starting GT Lane: X0Y8
GT Refclk Selection MGTREFCLK0 of Quad X0Y2
GT Refclk: 156.25 Mhz
Init Clk: 100 Mhz

Link Layer
Dateflow mode: Duplex
Interface: Framing
Flow Control: None

Insertion loss at Nyquist: 0db
Equalization mode: DFE
Link Coupling: AC
Termination: Float
Programmable termination voltage: 800mv
PPM offset between receiver and transmitter: 0
