altium design files

Jump to solution

Hello,

I would like to find more information regarding design files for accelerating the integration of xilinx chips into our designs.

Could you provide some feedback on which daughter/dev board design files are availablle, which are verified, and with which customization can be applied for new applications.

I can find some basic options here:  https://designcontent.live.altium.com/#ReferenceDesigns , but nothing suitable for Zynq or Artix.  Would also be preferable to incorporate DDR3 and additional features (JTAG pins, usb interface, etc..)

Thanks

Jerome

Hi Jerome,

This is Xilinx Worldwide Tech Support's Answer:
https://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/69422.html

Xilinx's position is that providing schematics and gerbers for our Evaluation boards should be enough for customers to understand the design.

Thanks,
Andres

Hi Jerome,

We do make available the Schematics / Layout of our Evaluation boards, but most of them are done in OrCAD / Allegro.
You can probably import those into Altium.

Here is an example of what I'm referring to:
https://www.xilinx.com/products/boards-and-kits/ek-a7-ac701-g.html
If you go to Documentation you'll find Schematics and Allegro Board Layout.

Additionally, I found Xilinx Artix-7 symbols available here:
https://www.altium.com/products/extensions/hardware-extensions/xilinx-artix-7

Hope this helps!

Thanks,
Andres

Hello,

Thank-you .  Yes I am familiar with Allegro, however, altium is becoming a more and more common tool.

attached is snapshot when trying to import brd file.

is it possible to speak with technical support at XILINX ?  this may be very simple file output for layout engineer.
