external connections on Nexys4 ddr board without Pmod switches

how to connect a simple external led/or any other device  to Nexys4 ddr board without using a Pmod switch. If it is not possible please help me with how to connect using a Pmod switch.

I would suggest the Pmod BB or Pmod TPH2 modules. Either will give you (almost) direct access to FPGA pins. Or you can just plug jumper wires into the Pmod ports directly; that's all those two boards are doing.

 

Since the Pmod I/Os are all driven through 200-ohm resistors, you'll probably want to include an external driver circuit (eg. a transistor, logic buffer, or LED driver) rather than connecting LEDs directly to the Pmod pins.  For other interfaces (I2C, SPI, etc) you can use the pins directly as long as your voltages are compatible.
