how to confirm the current of ZCU102 VCCINT?

Jump to solution

ZCU102 1156 pins, zu9eg, but if I use zu3eg,784 pins or 625 pins, how to confirm the current of VCCINT?  ZCU102 use max15301 to provide 40A for VCCINT , what should I provide? 20A? 10A? or other?

The current of VCCINT and other power supply rails is not only  device but also design dependent. It is not good practice to copy ZCU102 board design as it is to your custom board . So recommending to follow below steps.

Step -1: As per your custom design & device first estimate power by using Xilinx power tools (XPE/Vivado Power). You can also estimate currents all power rails including VCCINT.

FYI:

  • By using XPE/Vivado_power tools customer can find out what is the maxim power consumption ,current of each supply rail for their design.

  • To know more details about power tools please visit the below site and refer the bellow documents if you have chance

     http://www.xilinx.com/products/design_resources/power_central/index.htm

     https://www.xilinx.com/video/technology/power-estimation.html (Training video)

Step_2: As per the above power estimations please design your power supply or configure Power ( Maxim in your case) module  in your custom board.

In your case you wish to use Maxim Power module. So to know more details about how to configure Maxim power module please go through Maxim web site. You can use ZCU102 (https://www.xilinx.com/products/boards-and-kits/ek-u1-zcu102-g.html#documentation) board documentation reference for understanding purpose.
