vcu-118 lwip auto-negotiation

Hi,

We have several VCU-118 boards running our demo with lwip202_v1_1.

On some of the boards we are experiansing a problem only after power up the auto negotiation is finished with 10Mbps instead of 100Mbps.

get_IEEE_phy_speed(): Invalid speed bit value, Deafulting to Speed = 10 Mbps

When this occurs we are unable to connect with the board from the host machine.

Even trying to call phy_setup_axiemac few time wont help.

When running with debugger the second run of the always succeds.

It seems that this issue has to do with timing of the HW design.(some kind of race conditions, it works fine on few boards)

can someone point what can we do to overcome this issue ?

Thanks,

Roy

Re: vcu-118 lwip auto-negotiation

Hello @erez

Let's start with basic questions:

1. how many boards you have in possession?

2. How many are failing?

3. What is the revision of failing boards?

4. Do you see any power issues on the failing boards?

5. Go through board debug checklist https://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/69737.html

Thank you

Re: vcu-118 lwip auto-negotiation

Hi Kudos,

1. We have 34 boards see below list of serial number with 28 units. for the other 6 units I do not have the full number onlly the 5 last digits.

2. 10 units are not working well. Two of them have the ethernet negotioation problem after power up. I noticed something common most of the malfunction boards has 88510029341831 at the begining of the serial number.

3. all the boards we have are revision 2.0

4. no power issues that we know of.

Is there any workaround you can provide that we can run in SW ?

Thanks,

Roy
