Radio over Ethernet (RoE) and Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) IP

Hi

We are going to design one converged access swithc which support RoE and TSN. I was wondering if Xilinx FPGAs could collocate with Broadcom ASICs (BCM56670 - RoE switch and BCM56070 - TSN switch) to meet our requirement. Could you advise what Xilinx RoE/TSN FPGA IP we need to have inside CAS? Please find the attachemet for reference.

Another question is how much one-way packet latency will be in Xilinx RoE/TSN FPGA respsectively (assume the traffic load is 100Gbps)? Then we can know the maximum Fiber distance form this latency.

Hi @tim_liu 

Currently one RoE IP can generate 4*25G Ethernet Channel. It doesn't natually support 100G. Please work with your FAE, so he can discuss with marketing, and see if there is plan to support 100G.

For ZCU102 demo, it uses 10G/25G Ethernet Subsystem IP (with IEEE PTP 1588 enabled). It hasn't been validated with preemption 802.1 feature

Hi

 

Recently, i've checked some OCP documets about CAS and FHG. Then RoE is not required for CAS, and the FHG only requires preemption for TSN. It means that can't support RoE and TSN on one box (CAS or FHG), right?

 

From "Adaptable Advantage blog", i watched the demostration video for Xilinx converged xhaul gateway solution. I would like to know the role of 10G TSN block inside Xilinx ZCU102. This block only support preemption for TSN, right?
