Our ADAS Solution won the Editors’ Choice Award in the “Most Competitive Automotive Electronic Solution” category, while our RFSoC won the Editor’s Choice for the “Most Competitive FPGA Product”.
With automotive-tech playing an increasingly larger role at CES, Xilinx made certain to be visible throughout the week-long event. At this year’s show, we were on a roll, issuing several news announcements relative to Xilinx technology enabling artificial intelligence (AI) acceleration, automated driving (AD) and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) with our automotive partners and customers. Our products were also featured in demos on the show floor.
Continuing the impressive momentum Xilinx has made in automotive in 2018—including last week’s announcement with Daimler—today we are extremely proud to announce a new design win in China with BYD, the world’s largest manufacturer of electric vehicles and batteries and a global leader in battery-electric buses with more than 45,000 buses in service across 300 cities, 50 countries and six continents. BYD is the first OEM in China to begin mass production of its front-camera advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) technology using the Xilinx Zynq SoCs, which will be going into its newest-generation commercial and passenger cars.
While we haven’t always been loudly honking our own car horn as we should, Xilinx has a strong pedigree in automotive. For more than 12 years, we’ve shipped over 40 million cumulative units to automakers and Tier 1 automotive suppliers. In the majority of recent deployments, Xilinx devices are being used by Tier 1s to provide processing power for the camera and sensor systems they are developing for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles.
