I have a query with respect to the PYNQ board. Although I have experience with Zynq, I am not familiar with Python or the Linux environment. Can I work with the PYNQ board in the same manner I would use the Zedboard? This means, can I develop and program my hardware designs on Zynq using Vivado and can I develop and program the software design on Zynq using SDK?
Also, can the software programming be done as bare-metal, i.e. without any OS running?

Is there any pre-defined .hdf (hardware platform specification) available for the PYNQ board in Xiinx SDK? I copied the PYNQ-Z1 board files from Github and copied them in the Vivado and SDK installation folders. Vivado does allow selection of the PYNQ board while making a new project. However, SDK does not show any pre-defined hardware platform filesfor PYNQ.
Is such a file available online? Many people say it can be obtained from the SDK folder in the Github repository for PYNQ. However, I am unable to locate the folder anywhere. Does someone have a link to these files or folder?
