I am trying to use Convolutional Encoder IP in Vivado and SDK, but I do not see any drivers or functions available for the same in SDK. I also cannot find any demo examples for this IP. Can anyone help me with this?
Moreover, as Convolutional Encoder takes one bit input at a time, but the interface port is of 8 bits, should I zero pad the 1 bit input and then send it to convolutional encoder OR this IP can itself read 1 bit from 8 bit input and do the encoding.
If it takes only 1 bit input, will this be a bottleneck in my hardware implementation? If yes, then how can i improve upon this to achieve high data rate?

The convolutional encoder is a logic IP without driver, that said, you do not see anything in SDK, but you can find the IP in Vivado.
You can find some convolution encoder examples on XAPP551. The files of XAPP551 can be downloaded from https://www.xilinx.com/member/forms/download/design-license.html?cid=146331&filename=xapp551.zip.
