'[USF-XSim-62] 'elaborate' step failed with error(s)' in system generator 2018.2 when simulating DDS module

Jump to solution

OS: Windows 7

Vivado: 2018.2

Matlab: R2018a

Create a simple model with DDS_compiler_v6.0 as below:

Default parameter settings with the DDS block

and then click the simulate button. It works properly and finish successfully.

As I modify the model as below,

1. change the DDS block paramter , ‘Output Frequency' from 'fixed' to 'Programmable'

image003.png

2. add another constant block and connect to the DDS 'config_tdata_pinc' with ufix_28_28 data type

Click the simulate button and the model report a error as below

ERROR: [USF-XSim-62] 'elaborate' step failed with error(s). Please check the Tcl console output or 'C:/Users/ChenJianliang/AppData/Local/Temp/xlsim5b9a6f73/hdl_netlist/xelab.sim/sim_1/behav/xsim/elaborate.log' file for more information. Please refer to 'C:/Users/CHENJI~1/AppData/Local/Temp/xlsim5b9a6f73/vivado.log' for more details.

the error message in the elaborate.log :

ERROR: [XSIM 43-3322] Static elaboration of top level Verilog design unit(s) in library work failed.

I tried to locate to the temp directory and run the tcl in command window but nothing changed.

I searched all the xsim-62 questions in the web but did not find a solution to this problem.

Even the model can not be simulated ,but it can be implemented the 'generate' process in the Xilinx Token.

Many thanks to everyone who can help.

turn your windows update on and install all the system update packages, and reinstall the vivado

seems that's a system bug for windows 7

I tried the uploaded-design on my system. It is working fine for the "output frequency : programmable".

I attached the screenshot of the result.

Version which are used by me :

OS: Windows 10

Vivado: 2018.3

Matlab: R2018a

well... I do not have a linux system to verify...

Do you think the problem comes from the difference between Vivado for Linux  and Vivado for Windows in 2018.2?

Or is there something incompatible in windows7 with vivado2018.2?

Current  cases:

win7 + 2018.2 (failed)

win10 + 2018.3 (fine)

linux + 2018.2 (fine)
