Alveo U280: which SLR regions can use HBM?

Jump to solution

Alveo U280 docs say that only SLR 0 has direct connection to HBM.

Does it mean that with other SLRs it is NOT possible to connect to HBM...
... or that it is possible but just slower?

Hi Benedetto

The physical wires to the HBM silicon are connected directly to SLR0 (at the bottom).

SLR0 is the bottom SLR.
The other SLRs have indirect connections through SLR0.

Is it slower? That depends on how much latency you can have. With enough pipelining registers, you can reach even the top SLR at full rate.

Best regards

Dries
