Incomplete documentation of U200 - UG1289

Hi,

I'm making my first steps with an U200, while reading the documentaion I noticed some inconsistencies.

- status LEDs: UG1289 states the there are 5 LEDs

Reference Designator Description
DS1 RED: POWER_GOOD
DS2 BLUE: DONE_0
DS3 ORANGE: STATUS_LED0
DS4 YELLOW: STATUS_LED1
DS5 GREEN: STATUS_LED2

I can see that a blue LED is on. I can See a red LED flashing shortly on power up but it is not on constantly. Does that indicate a problem? The othere LEDs blink during programming I assume, one of them remains on. I can see no label on the PCB so I don't know which LED is which.

 

- There ar three undocumented connectors on the side of the card: J1, J3 and C3. What are these?

- There are two undocumented switches on the side of the card: SW1 and SW2, what are these?

 

- In Vivado 2018.3 the "board" tab lists the following board components: UART, FPGA resetn and DIP switches.
How can I connect to the UART?
Where is FPGA resetn? Is is one the switches SW1 or SW2?
Where are the DIP switches?

J1, J3 are the connectors which are connected to the satellite controller (MSP432) on the board. Just FYI, the features available in the satellite controller are accessible through xbutil.

C3 is DDR4 DIMM interface connected to FPGA.

SW1 and SW2 are CPU_RESET and PROGRAM_B switch respectively connected to FPGA. So FPGA resetn is SW1. UART can be connected through USB port on the board.

Hi @moaxiro :

DS1 (RED) - Power Good LED

At the very first boot up (Linear Technology device and MSP have not been programmed), this LED will light up and only VCCINT (0.9V) will be available. 

After the Linear Technology device is programmed, if any power net fails, this LED will light up.

DS2 (BLUE)- Configuration DONE status

Once the FPGA is programmed / configured, this LED will light up steadily.

DS3 (ORANGE) - MSP heartbeat

Once the MSP firmware has been programmed, this LED will flash after the board is turned on.

DS4 (YELLOW) - Status_LED1

DS5 (GREEN)

Solid GREEN indicates 2 possible scenarios:

1. MSP firmware is waiting in Boot Strap Loader

2. MSP is hung (not working)

Hi @panantra ,

thanks for your reply. Can you also comment on the other points I mentioned, i.e. the connectors and the switches at the side of the card, where are the dip switches and how can I use the USB UART? For now, I'm just curious.
