Errors that don't matter

Jump to solution

When running from project mode I frequently see these errors when I build.

  • [Common 17-354] Could not open 'C' for writing.
  • [Common 17-356] Failed to install all user apps.

I think this happens more often if I am running on a remote login to the PC, but I'm not sure.  In any case, the bitstream builds successfully.  I know that 17-534 usually happens because Vivado can't write to a user area on the C drive.  I'm guessing that this has something to do with the remote login.  Still, if the build completes, what is the value of these error messages?

@bruce_karaffa

As a general principle, I also have noticed that many times there is not a consistent choice when something is marked as 'warning' vs 'informational'... If the user can't do anything about it, calling something a warning is indeed not helpful.

As for the two your mention, there may be a way to resolve them. Check out these links...

Hope that helps

If so, please mark as solution accepted. Kudos also welcomed. :-)
