Package IP with a custom interface

Jump to solution

I have some IP with a set of signals (addr, data and we). They all start with reg_. Is it possible to create an interface for them like you can do with AXI? Then I can just connect them together from one IP to another without having to connect every signal.

Thanks

Hi @beandigital,

Yes this is possible:

-> If you are using IP Integrator, you can use an already defined interface or create your own interface. See ch.4 (an ch.5 to create a new interface) of UG1118:

https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx2016_3/ug1118-vivado-creating-packaging-custom-ip.pdf

-> If you are using the feature Add module to add a HDL file (from 2016.1), you can use the attribute X_INTERFACE_... : see UG994 p170:

https://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/sw_manuals/xilinx2016_3/ug994-vivado-ip-subsystems.pdf

Hope that helps,

Regards,
