Passing generics from xtclsh?

Jump to solution

Hi folks,

Is there a way to pass a generic(s) as synthesis option from xtclsh? My shell needs to pass a few generics based on some variable value. In the synthesis script, you'd pass: "-generics {PCIE_LANES=8}".

My Makefile flow does it by modifying the xst script in place with sed, but I can't find a way to do it with xtclsh.

Ideas?

Thanks in advance,

-Pat

Take a look at the Chapter 27 "Tcl Reference" in the "Command Line Tools User Guide" below. A side note: I highly recommend everybody use "Xilinx Document Navigator" to manage/view all HW/SW documents.
