use custom IP generics in another custom IP

I have a custom AXI-S peripheral design (called HDL1 here) which has 2 generic parameters. And then I packaged it using "IP packager", into what I'll call IP1, adding the ability to change these parameters from the customization GUI. And that works well, and I drop it unto my higher-level design, and it's functional,.

But now I want to generalize my higher level design and to do so using the packaged IP1 would require passing the generics from my higher level HDL to the component instantiation for IP1., But IP1 doesn't have those generics in it's entity/component definition. It seems like the way to add these would be to go int "edit /re-repackage IP," then go to the "Ports and Interfaces" tab, and something would be there to  allow me to do this, but I don't see anything.

Is there a way to do this, because I think the alternative is to just add the HDL1, which has the generics in it's entity delcaration.
