I recently upgraded to 14.4.
I open an old project - which worked well with 14.3
Tried to compile again without making any changes,
and hit an error. Here is the log:
**** Build of configuration Debug for project led ****
Building file: ../src/adc.c
Invoking: ARM gcc compiler
arm-xilinx-eabi-gcc -Wall -O0 -g3 -c -fmessage-length=0 -I../../freertos_bsp/ps7_cortexa9_1/include -MMD -MP -MF"src/adc.d" -MT"src/adc.d" -o"src/adc.o" "../src/adc.c"
'arm-xilinx-eabi-gcc' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
make: *** [src/adc.o] Error 1
I had downloaded 14.4 as 4 different files:
Then checked their MD5 checksums, and they match.
Used 7-zip to extract the first file - which created xsetup.exe.
Then I simply ran xsetup.exe to complete the installation.
Did I do something wrong?
How to fix this?
Further, I opened "ISE Design Suite 64 bit Command Prompt" and
typed arm-xilinx-eabi-gcc and pressed Enter. It says "no input files".
i.e. arm-xilinx-eabi-gcc exists and the Command Prompt knows it's path.
Only SDK does not know the path. Why???

It works when I launch SDK in standalone mode.
I had searched the forum (and google) for things like:
14.4 sdk arm-xilinx-eabi-gcc
but I could not get to this answer record.

This can also be fixed by modifying the desktop shortcut for planahead and adding the settings64.bat (or settings32.bat) in front of the planahead.bat on the target line.
e.g. make Target: to be
or settings32.bat as appropriate for the installation paths on your machine.
Thanks heaps to previous posters for pointing out the basic problem, that the planahead launch is faulty as installed.

I'm a beginner. As usual, I had installed ISE DS 14.5 and SDK 2013.1 and practiced some examples provided
by Zynq-7000 all programmable SoC: Concepts, Tools, and techniques Guide. Then the simple hello example
failed to be compiled due to this same issue. I tried to open SDK as standalone as suggested but without success.
I'm wondering whether the compiler is missing because I cannot find it. Do I need to install it separately ?
I'll appreciate any help.
Thanks - sungyung

Hello, can someone explain me how do I run SDK standalone mode? And if I can continue from the same point I would running on PlanAhead tool? I'm just trying to follow "Hello World" tutorial from zedboard.org
