Linux with HDMI video input and output

Jump to solution

Hello All,

I am working on Zynq ZC702 for HDMI video output to PC monitor. I have gone through steps to work Linux with HDMI, now I am unable to figure out how to add my video/audio in the code, I mean functions which will take my video from say, storage card and pass it through ADV7511 and finally to output?...

Clearly, the methods are available to set TX, Hsync, Vsync but how should video data added and output to HDMI.

I found some methods here.

Help is needed.

Did you have a chance to look at the Zynq Base TRD?

Use the reference design from ADI, and their kernel.

That adds a simple framebuffer driver (/dev/fb0), which you can use for x11 and/or Qt output like any other framebuffer.

If you want to playback video files, I suggest using gstreamer to obtain AV codecs.
