Petalinux PicoZed: Making an eMMC partition >2GB

I'd like to make a single primary partition that spans the entire 3783MB of eMMC space on my PicoZed.

However, when I then try to format it (mkdosfs -F 32 /dev/mmcblk1p1) I get an error. Anything up to 2GB works fine

mkdosfs: lseek: Value too large for defined data type

Does anybody know of a solution/workaround for this?
